Chon Buri police investigate possible murder after body found in Sattahip
Police in Chon Buri are investigating a chilling incident after Najomtien police responded to a possible murder report in a village in Sattahip District yesterday. Officers arrived at 9.30am to find a large pool of blood in the living room, with a sharp kitchen knife lying in it.
Bloodstains suggested the body had been dragged into the bedroom, where they discovered the victim, 24 year old Anucha, lying on the bed with a deep slash across his neck, giving the appearance of being asleep.
In the kitchen, police found evidence that blood had been washed away, raising suspicions that the perpetrator might have escaped through the back of the house. The victim, publicly identified only as Anucha, was described by his father, Wichai, as a quiet individual with few friends. Wichai, a 60 year old man, arrived at the scene in tears, deeply shaken by the loss of his son.
A neighbour reported smelling blood around 10pm the previous night but dismissed it until the odour intensified the next morning. This prompted the neighbour to alert security, who, after spotting blood through a window, immediately contacted the police, reported The Pattaya News.
“I didn’t think it was anything serious when I first smelled it, but it became unbearable by the morning,” the neighbour said.
Police and forensic officers have collected evidence from the scene to determine the cause of death. Anucha’s body has been sent to the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for an autopsy. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning witnesses, including the victim’s close friends, as part of their ongoing investigation.
In related news, police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body found floating in Suvarnabhumi’s water canal in the Bang Phli area. A pickup truck with a child car seat was parked nearby and witnesses saw the man sitting on a bridge the night before.
