Bullet fired in celebration narrowly misses woman in Sri Banphot
A shocking incident unfolded when a bullet fired into the sky during new year celebrations came crashing through the roof, narrowly missing a woman’s head in Sri Banphot, Phatthalung. A 36 year old woman reported the incident to the Sri Banphot Police Station, presenting the bullet as evidence. The event occurred just minutes after midnight, during the new year countdown, when a 9-millimetre bullet pierced their roof.
Rewadi recounted the nerve-wracking moment, expressing relief that her children, aged four and 11, were away at their grandmother’s house. She was in her room while her mother was closing the front door amidst the loud sound of fireworks.
At the same moment, a mysterious object struck the roof with a loud bang. Upon inspection, they discovered it was a bullet that had narrowly missed her mother’s head. Shocked by the incident, Rewadi remarked that she had only ever heard about such occurrences in the news and never imagined it could happen in her own home.
“I never thought something like this would happen to my family. I’ve only seen these things in the news.”
Motivated by the frightening experience, Rewadi decided to report the incident to the police, reported KhaoSod.

The Thalang Police, along with rescue workers, responded promptly to the distress call from Moo 8, Srisoonthorn, arriving around 9.25pm. The victim, Netima Luansai, a 42 year old woman, suffered a bullet wound on her left upper arm. The bullethead was discovered on the ground behind her, adding to the mystery of the event.
Netima recounted to the police that she was engaged in a phone conversation outside her home when she suddenly experienced a sharp, sudden pain in her arm. The pain continued to intensify, and it was only moments later she realised that she was bleeding.
