The headline story for car enthusiasts this year is the arrival of several brands exhibiting at the Motor Show for the first time. CHERY, LEPAS, FIREFLY, FORTHING, and TESLA are all on the floor for the first time, reflecting growing confidence in Thailand’s EV market from global manufacturers. If you have been curious about any of these brands, this is the most accessible place to see them up close.

Beyond the showroom floor, there is enough happening around the venue to fill a full day.

JDM & Custom Culture is an outdoor showcase of over 200 modified and JDM cars, 100 per day, taking place on March 28 to 29 at the Loading Area behind Challenger 1–3. Car club groups will be gathering throughout both days, making this a highlight for anyone into custom builds.

Test Drive Zone runs along the Muang Thong Thani lakeside, where visitors can get behind the wheel of new models from multiple brands in an open environment. Worth planning ahead if there is a specific car you want to try.

Grand Prix Runbike Championship with RCS is a balance bike racing competition running as part of the event programme, a practical add-on for families with young children.

XO Autosport’s 30th Anniversary celebration also takes place within the show, drawing notable figures from Thailand’s custom car scene.

Deals and prizes: the Motor Show Pay campaign

Every brand on the floor is coming in with promotions, flexible financing, and adjusted pricing. On top of that, the official “Motor Show…Pay” campaign gives visitors a shot at significant Gift Voucher prizes:

  • Book a car: chance to win a 100,000 baht Gift Voucher (12 prizes)

Worth going?

If you have even a passing interest in cars or like to drive a lot in Thailand, the Bangkok International Motor Show is one of the easiest days out Bangkok offers in the first half of the year. The EV and new brand presence make 2026 a particularly good year to attend, and with deals, test drives, and outdoor activities running alongside the main exhibition, there is more reason to stay longer than just a lap around the floor.

The organiser is targeting at least 10 per cent revenue growth over last year, with over 3,000 registered media, influencers, and content creators expected on site. It is going to be busy.
