Divorce dock dating: Woman takes to civil affairs office to find love in unconventional pursuit

A 36 year old woman embarked on an unconventional method of finding a partner by waiting outside a civil affairs office, scanning for recently divorced men. She was inspired by a video of a single man who had done the same thing, befriending a newly divorced woman.

After stationing herself on the stairs outside the office for three days, she noticed several recently separated couples exiting the premises. One such instance involved a woman berating her ex-husband.

“You’re a man who can’t even earn 10,000 yuan (50,000 baht) a month. I don’t want a man like this. You’re not worthy of me.”

The man retorted that her requirements were too high.

“You’re also bad-tempered. You earn a mere 3,000 yuan (15,000 baht), so why do you ask me to earn more than 10,000 yuan? Why should I do something you can’t? What sort of misunderstanding is this?”

The former wife continued disparaging her husband by resorting to traditional old fashioned ideals.

“Because you’re a man, and a man should earn 10,000 yuan a month. If you can’t earn it, it means you’re incapable. What else do you have to say? Divorce is the smartest decision for me.”

As the couple continued their argument about income, the single woman saw her opportunity. She approached the man, who she considered attractive and tall, despite his salary not reaching 10,000 yuan, she was willing to accept it. She asked him whether he was single.

“Yes, I just got divorced. Do you need anything?”

The woman then boldly proposed that because they were both single, they should become a couple.

The ex-wife, overhearing the conversation, was infuriated and baffled, as she didn’t expect anyone to be interested in her ex-husband given his low income.

“You want a man I don’t want. What are you thinking?”

Ignoring the ex-wife’s question, the single woman linked arms with the man as if they were already a couple, leaving the ex-wife even more stunned. The audacious act of the single woman left spectators questioning her desperation to find a partner, going as far as pursuing a man who was just divorced, reported Sanook.
