Tourist beaten by ladyboys on Soi Bangla after dine-and-dash

A wild brawl erupted in the early hours of yesterday on Phuket’s infamous Bangla Road after a tourist allegedly skipped out on paying for his meal.
The chaotic scene, which unfolded yesterday, March 12, in the heart of Patong, Kathu district, saw a group of local ladyboys, unhappy at the dine and dasher’s behaviour, confronted the man before the situation turned violent.
According to footage captured by another tourist, a heated argument broke out before the group attacked him, landing punches that sent him crashing to the ground.
As he attempted to defend himself, kicking out at one of his attackers, the group retaliated, stomping on him in front of stunned onlookers.
The street fight quickly drew a crowd of curious tourists before Patong police arrived to defuse the situation. Officers managed to separate the parties before further harm was done, preventing the altercation from escalating further.
Despite the intensity of the scuffle, there were no reports of serious injuries, and neither party filed an official complaint. However, police have stated they are prepared to accept formal grievances should either side choose to pursue legal action, reported Amarin TV.
This latest incident raises fresh concerns over safety on Bangla Road, one of Thailand’s most popular nightlife districts. Clashes between tourists and locals are not uncommon in the area, highlighting the need for stricter monitoring to prevent violent altercations from tarnishing Phuket’s reputation as a top tourist destination.
In similar news, a foreign tourist in Krabi has gone viral for skipping out on a restaurant bill, leaving staff and locals outraged. The tall, tattooed man reportedly enjoyed a lavish meal before casually walking out without paying, pretending to visit the restroom before disappearing.
The incident took place on March 9 at Into the Forest, a well-known restaurant in Khao Thong, Mueang district. CCTV footage captured the man leaving, prompting the restaurant to issue a public warning. The clip was shared online by a concerned local, urging residents to stay vigilant and report any sightings of the culprit.
