Bar worker beaten outside Patong hotspot after jealous row

A Patong bar worker was left bloodied and bruised after a savage street brawl erupted outside one of the island’s busiest nightlife zones — all sparked by a petty case of jealousy.
The violent incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday morning, April 14, just outside a popular bar near the beach road entrance to Bangla Road. The victim, a 26 year old woman identified only as B, had just finished her shift at the venue when chaos erupted.
According to B’s statement to Patong police, her boyfriend had come to pick her up when a woman from a nearby table, part of a group of five to six Thai men, invited him to join them. When he politely declined, things quickly spiralled.
“A woman invited my boyfriend to sit with her. He refused, and suddenly they became aggressive,” B told officers. “I tried to calm things down, but one of them hit me in the eye and I fell to the ground.”
What followed was a brutal assault. B and her boyfriend were repeatedly kicked and punched by several members of the group. The attack reportedly only stopped when the bar’s manager and the owner’s son rushed in to intervene.
CCTV footage timestamped at 3.49am shows the chaotic brawl, including disturbing scenes where B’s boyfriend is held back while other men take turns hitting him in the face. B is also seen being struck and falling to the ground.
Police officers soon arrived at the scene. B said she saw the alleged attackers sitting in a bronze-silver pickup truck parked near the beach, not far from Patong Police Station. She claimed officers spoke with the group, but no arrests were made at the time.
“One of the women even mocked me for crying,” B said. “It felt like they didn’t take it seriously.”
B later filed an official complaint at Patong Police Station and received medical treatment for facial injuries at a nearby hospital, reported The Phuket News.
The case has since gone viral after being highlighted by the Facebook page สุดแจ๊คปลัดบอก, which posted a photo of the victim’s injuries and called for swift legal action. The page also alleged that the attackers were linked to a well-known local business.
As of now, police have not confirmed the identities of the suspects or whether any charges have been filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
