Stall-ing for help: Pattaya veggie thief leaves owner in a pickle
A spate of thefts at a fresh vegetable stall in Soi Khao Talo Market, Nongprue, near Pattaya, left its owner desperate for help. On September 14 at 4pm, the owner Wirasak, went public with CCTV footage in a bid to catch the thief who’s been targeting his stall.
The footage reveals a man, around 160 to 170 centimetres tall and aged between 30 and 40, wearing a mask, a grey long-sleeved shirt with a red stripe, and blue shorts. The crook was caught on camera rifling through the stall and making off with coins, two to three packs of size zero eggs, canned fish, vegetable oil, and more. Wirasak revealed that these thefts have struck his business at least three times.
The 35 year old shop owner had blocked off the shop with slats but the thief managed to break in and swipe several items, reported Pattaya News.
“The latest theft happened in the dead of night after I had securely locked up.”
In a bid to end this crime wave, Wirasak is offering a reward for any information leading to the thief’s identification and capture. He’s urging anyone with details to contact Nongprue Police Station or call 062-007-2533.
There appears to be something in the Pattaya air regarding thefts. In related news, a thief has struck again at an apartment in Pattaya, stealing an aluminium ladder in what marks the second incident at the location this year.
The theft occurred yesterday, and the victim, 26 year old Pimnapa Yamsantia, provided CCTV footage to local news reporters to aid in identifying the culprit.
The footage shows a man, estimated to be between 30 to 35 years old, arriving at the apartment on a red Honda Wave 125 motorcycle, which lacked a licence plate.
He was dressed in a full-faced black helmet, a blue shirt, and black shorts. The man parked next to the building walked inside, and headed to the parking lot. From there, he took an aluminium ladder from the back of a pickup truck and then swiftly left the scene on his motorcycle.
