Thai woman attacked in Pattaya over Indian man in love triangle
A confrontation in Pattaya’s bustling Soi Diamond resulted in a Thai woman being assaulted by three other women in a dispute reportedly linked to an Indian man.
The incident unfolded at 4.19am on February 16 near Second Road, involving four Thai women and an Indian man. Witnesses indicated that the Indian man tried to shield one of the women by restraining her in a headlock to stop the others from attacking her.
Despite his efforts, a woman dressed in black continued to strike and kick the victim, all within sight of numerous foreign tourists.
Numerous bystanders paused to observe the altercation, with some attempting to intervene. However, the aggressor warned them to refrain from interfering, leading others to opt out of involvement.
Eventually, a bystander stepped forward, ignoring the attacker’s verbal threats, and assisted the injured woman in complaining to Pattaya police. Meanwhile, the attacker and the Indian man, who was dressed in white, remained at the scene, engaging in a heated exchange.
Police patrol officers soon arrived and instructed all parties to report to the station for questioning, but the assailant left before officers could apprehend her.
The victim, identified as 27 year old Pariyat, informed the police that she had been in a relationship with the Indian man for seven months. On the evening of the altercation, she discovered that her boyfriend was at a well-known nightclub on Walking Street and decided to go there with a friend.
Upon reaching the location, she saw him conversing with the women involved in the attack and approached them for an explanation. The women reportedly became hostile, asserting that the Indian man was also their boyfriend. Security personnel then requested all of them to leave, reported The Pattaya News.
As Pariyat and her friend were making their way back to their accommodation, the group of women followed them and allegedly attacked her at the scene. Police are currently examining CCTV footage from the area to locate the attacker.
