A Thai man turned a routine traffic dispute into a life-threatening attack, leaving a Polish man severely injured after a road rage incident spiralled out of control in Pattaya yesterday.

The violent altercation erupted at 6.06pm, yesterday, August 20, on Soi Boonsamphan in the Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. Local police, accompanied by rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre, rushed to the scene after receiving an urgent report of the brawl between a Thai motorcyclist and a foreign driver.

When police arrived, they found the victim, Dobrzynski Slawomir, a 58 year old Polish national, bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the neck. The injury was inflicted just below his left jaw, and the situation was critical. Rescue workers provided immediate first aid before whisking him off to a nearby hospital.

At the scene, police recovered the weapon—a makeshift sharp metal tool with a plastic handle, stained with the victim’s blood. The suspect had already fled on a motorcycle before police could apprehend him.

An eyewitness, 16 year old Akarachai, recounted the chilling sequence of events to reporters. The incident began with a heated argument over a traffic dispute, sparked when one party cut off the other. As tempers flared, the confrontation escalated into a fistfight. However, when the suspect realised he couldn’t overpower Slawomir, he resorted to stabbing him, forcing the victim to retreat in search of help.

Adding to the tension, a group of the suspect’s friends arrived shortly after, armed with sticks. Fortunately, the police arrived just in time, prompting the group to scatter.

Pattaya police are actively searching for the suspect, who remains at large as of this report, relying on witness descriptions and video evidence, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, a heated road rage encounter occurred at a traffic junction in San Sai district, Chiang Mai, where a man wielding a knife confronted another driver after a horn was honked at him. The incident, which took place at 11.25pm on Saturday, August 3, sparked widespread attention after being shared on social media.
