Police raid in Pattaya nets eight arrests in drug den bust

Anti-narcotics officers conducted a significant raid on an alleged drug den in Soi Jomtien 3, Pattaya, at 2.06pm on February 28.
The operation resulted in the arrest of eight people, including one dealer and seven users, following complaints from locals about ongoing drug activities despite continuous efforts to eliminate them.
The raid was carefully planned through a sting operation involving marked cash, which led to the arrest of a female dealer, believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. She was allegedly engaged in the open sale of drugs.
As the officers made their move, several suspects attempted to escape but were successfully detained. The operation led to the seizure of methamphetamine, known locally as Yaba, and crystal meth, referred to as ice, which will serve as evidence in the case.
All people arrested, along with the confiscated drugs, were transferred to Pattaya police for further legal action. Government officials are actively encouraging residents to report any drug-related activities, reassuring them of strict enforcement without exceptions, reported The Pattaya News.
This recent raid is part of a continued series of operations aimed at curbing drug-related issues in the area.
Pattaya police have been intensifying their efforts in Soi 3, as well as conducting a broader law enforcement initiative across the greater Bang Lamung area.

In similar news, a 24 year old man was arrested for allegedly storing 200,000 meth pills in preparation for distribution, following a tip-off about a drug trafficking operation in Khemarat district, Ubon Ratchathani province.
On February 23, the Suranaree Task Force, under Control Division 4, received a tip about illegal drug activities in the area. They responded by launching the Suranaree Dok Bua Ban Samphan operation, a government initiative aimed at intercepting and suppressing drug trafficking along the border to create safe zones.
