A most unusual scenario unfolded on Thappraya Road in Pattaya, in the early hours of today. Pattaya police found themselves playing the role of exorcists when they were called in to placate a local man, aged between 40 to 45 years old, who was causing a late-night disturbance.

The man, who was said to be possessed, had been wreaking havoc in the quiet neighbourhood of Grand Condominium around 4am, leaving residents at a loss on how to deal with the situation.

The man, clad in a yellow shirt and short pants and barefooted, was seen acting strangely and erratically. The distressed resident’s peculiar antics, coupled with his terrifying screams, led the local populace to believe he might be under some spiritual influence. Unable to calm him down, they decided to bring in the Pattaya police.

The police were quick to respond to the call of duty. Police Lieutenant Yutthakorn Matchima, an officer from the Pattaya Police Station, arrived at the scene and took charge of the situation. Pol. Lt. Yutthakorn chose an unconventional method to calm the man. He decided to conduct an exorcism using holy water, a ritualistic practice used in many cultures to drive away evil spirits.

Pol. Lt. Yutthakorn began by instructing the man to raise his hands and then proceeded to sprinkle holy water around him while reciting certain incantations. The officer assured the onlookers that the problem had been resolved and there was no longer anything to worry about.

The man’s sudden improvement in behaviour, almost as though he had been blessed, left the spectators in awe. It remains a mystery how Pol. Lt. Yutthakorn had the know-how to conduct such a ritual, reported Pattaya News.

In a follow-up act of kindness, Pol. Lt. Yutthakorn offered to escort the man back to his nearby condominium.

The security guard of the condominium, 42 year old Uthanwan Thanwan, later shared with The Pattaya News that he had seen the man in a state of panic rushing down from the 14th floor earlier. When questioned, the man revealed that he had been scared by the apparition of a ghostly woman.

The Pattaya police have planned to further investigate this incident. They intend to bring in specialists to evaluate the man’s mental health and determine the scientific reasons behind his sudden outburst.
