Pattaya driver vanishes after brutal crash, leaving car wrecked

Violent smash leaves wrecked car behind, sparks urgent search for driver

Villagers in Soi 1, South Pattaya, were jolted awake in the middle of the night by the deafening screech of brakes, followed by a loud crash as a car ploughed into an electric pole.

Rushing out of their homes to investigate, they were met with a bewildering scene. The sedan, its front end completely wrecked and the bumper lying in pieces, was still idling with the engine running. But there was one unsettling detail – the driver was nowhere to be found.

Residents who witnessed the aftermath of the crash reported that despite the wreck being left in the alley for over two hours, no one had appeared at the scene. “We heard the noise and rushed outside, but there was no sign of anyone,” one local said. With the situation growing more puzzling by the minute, the concerned villagers called the police.

Upon arriving, the police took photographs, gathered evidence, and worked with a tow truck to remove the vehicle, which was then taken to Pattaya City Police Station. Officers are investigating to track down the car’s owner and determine why the driver fled the scene, leaving the wreckage behind.

“The crash left significant damage to the car, but no injuries were reported,” an officer from Pattaya Police explained. “We are doing everything we can to locate the man responsible for the crash.”

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Trat province, a pickup truck collided with a road sign before becoming lodged in a betel palm tree along the Bo Rai-Khlong Aeng road. Rescue workers were called to the scene, where they found 40 year old Muang from Surin province trapped in the vehicle. Emergency teams quickly extricated him from the wreckage, but he was later found to have been heavily intoxicated.

Police tested Muang’s alcohol levels, revealing a shocking result: 142 milligrams per cent – well above the legal limit of 50 milligrams. Officers are working to piece together the details of both crashes, reported Channel 7 News.
