Speeding motorbike crashes into power pole on Phuket road

A young man was critically injured after losing control of his motorbike and crashing into a power pole on Thepkrasattri Road in Phuket early this morning.
The accident occurred near the entrance of Soi Srisoonthorn (Soi RCA) in Village 5, Srisoonthorn, at around 2.40am, today, February 20.
Emergency responders from the Kusoldharm Foundation and a medical team from Thalang Hospital were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a heavily damaged black Honda PCX motorbike, registered in Phuket, lying near an electric pole.
Nearby, the victim was found in critical condition, suffering from a severe head wound and a broken left leg. Medical personnel administered first aid at the scene before transporting him to Thalang Hospital.
Eyewitness 52 year old Chaiyut Rasami, who alerted emergency services, told police that he was riding his motorbike with his girlfriend when the young man sped past them at high speed before losing control and slamming into the power pole.

Police officers recorded the details of the incident and secured the damaged motorbike as evidence, transporting it to Thalang Police Station.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident, with police suspecting excessive speed as a contributing factor, reported The Phuket News.
Local police have urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly during early morning hours when visibility is low and road conditions can be hazardous. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of high-speed driving on Phuket’s busy roads.
Further updates on the young man’s condition and the investigation are expected as police continue to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
