Nongprue police bust motorcycle theft gang, recover stolen bikes

Nongprue police officers successfully apprehended a gang involved in the theft of motorcycles for illegal sales last night. The operation, spearheaded by Superintendent Tawi Kutthaeng, along with Lieutenant Colonel Chumphon Saenwichai and Lieutenant Colonel Somchanok Fakphairot, culminated in the recovery of several stolen motorcycles.

The arrests occurred in a cassava forest a few kilometres from the theft scene. Multiple public complaints about a series of motorcycle thefts in a single night prompted the police to act swiftly.

The investigation team diligently reviewed CCTV footage to trace the thieves’ escape route. Crucial information from an unidentified local villager led police to the location of the hidden motorcycles.

The police set up a surveillance operation and, by evening, intercepted the gang as they attempted to transport the stolen motorcycles in a covered pickup truck. While two suspects managed to escape, one was apprehended on the spot. The arrested individual claimed they were hired to transport the motorcycles to black market buyers.

Victims of the thefts expressed immense relief and joy upon learning that their motorcycles had been recovered. One victim, in particular, was overwhelmed with gratitude, shedding tears and thanking the officers for their prompt action.

Pol. Col. Tawi encouraged the community to take preventive measures to protect their property, such as using locks and parking vehicles inside their homes. He also assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects, who will face prosecution, reported The Pattaya News.

The name of the arrested suspect was withheld, as police stated it could compromise further investigations to locate his accomplices.

In related news, a Thai man in Pattaya is appealing for assistance to locate thieves who stole his motorcycle, valued at over 200,000 baht, from his residence.

The man, 33 year old Kamol Hiransiri, reported the theft of his red and white Honda CRF 300 motorcycle, which occurred late at night. He has provided CCTV footage to aid in the search for the culprits.
