Naked Russian woman falls to death from Pattaya condo

A naked Russian woman plunged to her death from a Pattaya high-rise, sparking police investigation involving a mystery man and a possible lover’s quarrel.

At around 4pm on April 7, officers from Bang Lamung Police Station, Pattaya Tourist Police, and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rushed to a condominium in Soi Naklua 16 after reports of a foreigner falling from a building.

At the scene, emergency responders discovered the body of a 26 year old Russian woman, identified only as K, lying lifeless in the garden below the 40-storey building. She was found face down, naked, with only a green towel covering her lower body.

Investigations revealed that K had been living alone in a unit on the 14th floor. However, over the previous two or three days, a Russian man, whom she had recently met, had been frequently visiting her room and was present during the time of the incident.

According to police, the man claimed he had been sitting with his back to the balcony, working on his laptop, while the woman was speaking on the phone in the bathroom.

He told officers she appeared to be arguing with someone, possibly a boyfriend. Moments later, she allegedly ran out of the bathroom and leapt off the balcony without warning.

Police Lieutenant Janda Dermphan, Deputy Inspector of Bang Lamung Police Station, said the woman’s body was sent to the Forensic Institute at the Police Hospital in Bangkok for autopsy to determine the official cause of death. Officers are also working with the Russian Embassy and have launched a full investigation.

Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the building to verify the man’s version of events and to better understand his relationship with the dead woman. The man remains under investigation, though no charges have been filed at this time, reported The Pattaya News.
