Koh Larn resort worker arrested for trespassing and assault

Police arrested a 40 year old resort employee on Koh Larn following accusations of trespassing and sexual assault made by his former girlfriend.

The arrest took place yesterday, April 8, when officers from Mueang Pattaya district executed two warrants against the man, known only as Samarn, at his residence in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province.

The warrants, issued by Pattaya Provincial Court on April 7, charge Samarn with night-time housebreaking and sexual assault by threat or force, including causing bodily and mental harm.

The incident began when the alleged victim, a resort employee, filed a police report claiming that Samarn had broken into her staff accommodation on March 23, attempting to take her away. She resisted, and colleagues intervened, allowing her to escape before Samarn fled the scene.

On April 3, Samarn allegedly threatened to release private photographs unless the victim visited his residence. Succumbing to his threats, she went to his home, where she was reportedly assaulted.

Samarn, however, has denied the charges, claiming that his relationship with the victim ended a month ago after a three-year relationship. He speculated that the complaint resulted from her dissatisfaction over his inability to provide motorcycle transportation to work, reported KhaoSod.

Police remain sceptical of Samarn’s account and are proceeding with legal actions as per the judicial process.
