Unexpected meeting between Thai actress Khunying Ton and PM Srettha

Social media users have been sharing photographs of a chance seaside encounter between Thai actress Piyapas Bhirombhakdi, popularly known as Khunying Ton, and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin in Hua Hin. The images were posted by Khunying Ton on her personal Instagram account on December 31.

Khunying Ton captioned her post, stating that PM Srettha has been her friend since kindergarten. Their parents were friends, and they have always remained cordial, helping each other to the extent of becoming small business partners with Sansiri.

They often greet each other whenever and wherever they meet, especially in Hua Hin, where PM Srettha loves to exercise and inspect his company’s beachfront projects, a routine he has maintained for over a decade. The beach encounters, like the one yesterday, are always a delight, she added.

Khunying Ton, primarily known for playing Queen Suriyothai in the 2001 movie The Legend of Suriyothai, expressed her firm belief that PM Srettha will lead Thailand to prosperity and ensure the well-being of its citizens, offering her full support to him, reports Sanook.

In related news, On the advent of the new year, PM Srettha, in company with Supreme Patriarch and House Speaker and Parliament President Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, extended heartfelt wishes to the nation and its inhabitants.

The Thai PM started his year with a visit to Wat Ratchabophit, accompanied by his wife, Pakpilai Thavisin. They expressed their reverence to the Supreme Patriarch in a special new year merit-making ceremony. The 61 year old PM then shared the Supreme Patriarch‘s New Year blessing with the people, wishing everyone a prosperous new year.

The Supreme Patriarch also discussed with PM Srettha the major challenges the government was tackling and its strategies for resolution.

The Bangkok-born prime minister assured that the government will persistently enhance the protection of the nation’s three core institutions – the nation, religion, and monarchy.
