Thailand weather: Heavy rain and storms hit 42 provinces

The Meteorological Department of Thailand issued a warning for severe weather conditions today, April 20. The forecast indicates heavy rains and thunderstorms in 42 provinces, including Bangkok. Residents are advised to be cautious of strong winds and thunderstorms, as well as potential health impacts from the heat.
In the upper regions of Thailand, hot weather is prevalent, with some areas experiencing extreme temperatures. Thunderstorms and strong winds are likely due to a low-pressure system caused by heat, coupled with southern and southwesterly winds covering these areas.
In southern Thailand, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are anticipated in certain areas. Westerly and northwesterly winds are affecting the Andaman Sea and the southern region, with a low-pressure system covering the Malacca Strait. The Andaman Sea has waves reaching up to 1 metre, and over 2 metres in stormy areas.
Dust and smoke accumulation in the upper part of Thailand remains low to moderate due to moderate winds and sporadic rain in the region. The weather forecast from 6am today to 6am tomorrow is as follows:
