Former soapy king Chuwit Kamolvisit, a controversial Thai businessman and politician, has embarked on a journey to Scotland, via England, to receive treatment for terminal cancer. Accompanied by his daughter, who is providing care, the news has sparked an outpouring of support on social media.

Earlier today, close relatives shared Chuwit’s departure from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The 62 year old is not expected to return to Thailand for an indefinite period as he concentrates on his recovery and spends quality time with his family. His daughter, Ta Trakarntha Kamolvisit, revealed she is staying by his side, providing moral support during these challenging times.

Chuwit previously revealed his battle with stage 3 liver cancer and the ongoing chemotherapy treatment he has been undergoing. Doctors estimate he has between eight months to a year and a half left. Despite his prognosis, Chuwit has chosen to live his remaining days with joy, doing what he loves, and believes that many will remember and miss him in his absence.

Before his departure, Chuwit was known for his revelations about the grey area of Chinese business and various political issues. However, he announced the end of his whistleblowing activities on August 21, at the Davis Hotel, as he prepared for overseas treatment, reported KhaoSod.

Since the news of his departure, there has been a wave of support on social media for Chuwit. His courage and willingness to face his condition head-on have inspired many, triggering a significant number of posts wishing him strength during his battle.

Chuwit recently publicly disclosed the severity of his ongoing battle against stage 3 liver cancer. Despite the prognosis, he pledged to utilise his time remaining to illuminate wide-ranging societal quandaries courageously.

A former magnate in the massage parlour industry unveiled his grave health condition ahead of a press conference he hosted last week. The conference was organised to elaborate on the alleged governance issues about the real estate giant Sansiri, under the earlier stewardship of his one-time CEO, Srettha Thavisin, now the Prime Minister of Thailand.
