Lottery winners flock to Chon Buri temple for blessings

Devotees are flocking to Wat Khao Chong Lom in Chon Buri’s Si Racha district to pay homage to the towering 9.9-metre statue of Thao Wessuwan Thonglon, especially after a recent lottery win attributed to the deity’s blessing.
This marks the fourth instance this year where someone has won first prize after praying at the temple. Yesterday, March 30, a woman who won the first prize in the March 16 lottery draw, worth 6 million baht (US$176,850), returned to the temple to offer her thanks.
On this day, visitors gathered from early morning to make merit and receive offerings for the Thao Wessuwan Thonglon statue, located prominently at the temple entrance. After completing their prayers, many lit incense sticks in hopes of receiving lucky numbers for the upcoming April 1 lottery draw.
Some people who have previously experienced good fortune have set up charity booths distributing snacks and drinks every week.
The woman who won the first prize recounted her visit to the temple with her family before the last lottery draw. She had prayed for a large financial blessing, promising to return with offerings if her wish were granted.
Upon discovering her win, she promptly returned to the temple with numerous offerings and made a monetary donation to support the temple’s activities.
The temple officials have confirmed that she is the fourth person this year to win the first prize after visiting. Visitors continue to arrive from various regions, eager to seek blessings from the statue for the March 16 draw.
The temple’s car park was reportedly filled to capacity. Wat Khao Chong Lom welcomes visitors to pray to the Thao Wessuwan Thonglon statue from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and until 8pm on weekends.
Those interested in visiting can call 064-1700645 or follow the temple’s page for more details, reported KhaoSod.
