Heavy rains and floods predicted for 36 Thai provinces
Monsoon trough and strong winds brings rain and rough seas

The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall across 36 provinces today, August 15, including Bangkok, with the potential for flash floods, strong winds, and rough seas.
Today’s weather forecast indicates that the eastern and western southern regions will experience very heavy rain in some areas. Northern, northeastern, central, and eastern southern regions are expected to see heavy rain in certain locations.
This weather pattern is influenced by a monsoon trough extending over upper northern Thailand into a low-pressure area in northern Vietnam, combined with a strengthening southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
The Andaman Sea is expected to experience strong winds, with waves reaching 2-3 metres in the upper Andaman Sea and higher than 3 metres in stormy areas. In the Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea, waves will be around 2 metres, exceeding 2 metres in thunderstorm regions.
