The Government Lottery Office (GLO) of Thailand is set to conduct a lottery draw in Chiang Mai province on December 1. This initiative aims to enhance transparency in the lottery process and methods, offering the public an opportunity to witness the proceedings firsthand.

The lottery draw, set for December 1, will take place at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre, located in Mueang Chiang Mai district. This event allows residents from various provinces to observe the transparent procedures and equipment used for the draw.

GLO’s Director, Phanthawat Nunsansanokam, stated that this move is designed to increase public knowledge and confidence, discouraging belief in false predictions about winning numbers, often propagated by online scammers or fraudulent letters claiming to have the winning lottery numbers.

The draw will be graced by the presence of the Governor of Chiang Mai, who will serve as the chairperson of the prize committee. High-ranking officials, representatives from the public sector, and local media representatives will also join the prize committee.

Additionally, local civil servants will have the opportunity to participate in the process by turning the lottery wheel alongside the GLO’s staff. The public is invited to attend the draw free of charge, provided they show a government-issued identification card.

For those who cannot attend in person, the lottery draw will be broadcast live through various channels. Viewers can watch on Amarin TV starting at 1.50pm, or on Thairath TV from 2pm onwards.

The event will also be available on LINE TODAY, the GLO’s official website, the GLO Lottery official app, and via radio broadcast on the Public Relations Department’s stations from 2.30pm onwards.
