Fuel prices in Thailand to drop by 0.50 baht per litre from April 4

Fuel prices will drop today, giving a welcome relief to motorists ahead of the Songkran festival. Starting today, April 4, petrol and diesel prices will decrease by 0.50 baht per litre, thanks to a government initiative aimed at easing the financial burden on citizens travelling home for the traditional Thai New Year celebrations.
PTT Station made the announcement yesterday, April 3, revealing revised retail prices for all types of petrol, gasohol, and diesel.
The price reduction is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to alleviate rising energy costs, especially during the peak travel season of Songkran.
The new fuel prices, effective from 5am today, are as follows: petrol will be priced at 41.94 baht per litre, Gasohol 95 at 33.65 baht per litre, Gasohol 91 at 33.28 baht per litre, E20 at 31.44 baht per litre, and E85 at 29.79 baht per litre. Premium gasohol 95 will be priced at 42.24 baht per litre.
Diesel prices will also see a drop, with B7 and B20 diesel now priced at 31.94 baht per litre, while premium B7 diesel will be set at 43.94 baht per litre.

This fuel price reduction marks a total decrease of 1 baht over the past two weeks, providing some relief to motorists who rely on fuel for their long journeys during the festive period. While the price reductions are appreciated, it’s important to note that these retail prices do not include the Bangkok maintenance tax, which may impact the final cost for those refuelling in the capital, reported KhaoSod.
As millions of Thais prepare to travel home for Songkran, this move by the government is likely to make a noticeable difference, helping to reduce transportation costs and encouraging people to join in the celebrations without worrying too much about fuel prices.
As of March 28, petrol is priced at 42.44 baht per litre, Gasohol 95 at 34.15 baht, and Gasohol 91 at 33.78 baht. E20 will cost 31.94 baht, E85 is down to 30.29 baht, and premium Gasohol 95 will be 42.74 baht per litre.
Diesel prices have also been adjusted, with Diesel B7 and B20 now priced at 32.44 baht, and premium Diesel B7 at 44.44 baht per litre. These prices exclude the Bangkok maintenance tax.
