Fire breaks out at Chiang Mai’s Dara Dhevi Hotel

A fire broke out at the renowned Dara Dhevi Hotel in Chiang Mai early this morning sending emergency services rushing to the scene to contain the blaze.
The fire, which started around 2am today, April 23, affected a section of the luxury hotel, causing chaos among guests and staff. As firefighters worked tirelessly to control the flames, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain uncertain.
Police received the first reports of the blaze around 2am, with fire engines and emergency personnel swiftly arriving at the scene.
The fire, which originated in one part of the hotel, posed a serious threat of spreading to other sections, but quick action from the fire crews helped prevent further damage.
Despite the dramatic scenes, fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or fatalities.
The fire raged for approximately three hours before it was brought under control. Firefighters worked through the night in a bid to contain the flames, and by dawn, they had largely extinguished the fire.
However, the cause of the blaze is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing. Officials are yet to confirm whether the fire was accidental or caused by another factor.
“Emergency services responded promptly to prevent the fire from spreading,” said an official from the Chiang Mai Fire Department.
“Thanks to their quick response, we were able to bring the situation under control. There were no injuries, but we will continue to investigate the cause and assess the damage.”
As of now, forensic police are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the fire’s origin. Police are working with hotel management to assess the damage and prevent any future incidents, reported KhaoSod.
Updates will be provided as the situation develops, with officials urging the public to avoid speculation until the investigation is complete.
In a similar incident, a devastating fire broke out at the Ember Hotel near Bangkok’s Khao San Road in December last year.
The blaze claimed the lives of three foreign nationals: a Brazilian woman, a Ukrainian man, and an American man. Seven others were injured, including five foreigners and two Thai nationals.
