Police arrested a 33 year old Thai father for sexually abusing his 11 year old daughter for over a year. The mother, initially in disbelief, broke down after hearing the truth from the child, who had confided in a neighbour. The suspect claimed he was drunk and unable to control himself.

At 8pm yesterday, Sumit Phromtong, the superintendent of Bang Nam Priao Police Station in Chachoengsao province, ordered the arrest of 33 year old Rak. This action followed coordination with the district chief of Bang Nam Priao, the village headman, and local officials in Sala Daeng subdistrict, Bang Nam Priao district, Chachoengsao province. They were involved in rescuing the 11 year old girl who had been continuously abused by her biological father.

According to the district chief, the young girl had shared the ordeal with a neighbour, who then reported the matter to the village headman. The headman subsequently informed district authorities, leading to police intervention. Rak was taken in for questioning, and police coordinated with Sirapong Phokinwonghirun, the head of Chachoengsao’s child and family shelter, to temporarily place the girl under protective care. Following the rescue, the child was taken for a medical examination.

The mother, initially sceptical about the accusations, was devastated upon hearing the account from her daughter. She broke down in tears, unable to fathom the reality of the situation.

“I didn’t believe it at first. But when my daughter told me, it shattered my world.”

During police questioning, Rak defended himself by claiming that he was under the influence of alcohol and couldn’t control his actions. He admitted to inappropriate contact but denied penetrating his daughter, stating he only rubbed against her. Despite his defence, police proceeded with the arrest and intend to press charges, reported KhaoSod.
