Employees engaged in violent brawl in Patong

A violent clash erupted among employees of the same company in Patong, Phuket, after work hours, drawing attention and concern toward the tourist city’s image.

The brawl, which took place in the middle of a busy roundabout, was captured in a 1-minute 28-second video and shared on social media, sparking a mix of comments ranging from calls for calm to nostalgia for the quieter days of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The incident occurred at the Dolphin Circle in Patong Beach, Kathu District, where a group of men engaged in a fierce street fight using weapons, as tourists driving by witnessed the altercation. One individual suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Patong Hospital. Officers from Patong Police Station intervened, detaining about ten people for further investigation to determine the cause of the dispute before proceeding with legal action.

Upon examination, it was found that the two parties involved in the social media video were employees of the same company, which had internal conflicts during work. After finishing work, while driving behind each other, an exchange of abusive words led to a rear-end collision near Kalim Circle. The confrontation escalated as both parties got out of their vehicles and physically attacked each other with weapons.

When police arrived at the scene, they found one injured person sitting at the location with a severe head injury, reported KhaoSod.

The Kusoldharm Foundation was summoned to transport the injured to Patong Hospital and took both parties to Patong Police Station for investigation and legal proceedings.
