The Egg Duck Association announced a price increase for farm-fresh duck eggs by 10 satang, raising the price to 5.10 baht per egg, effective from yesterday. This marks the fifth price hike this year.

The Egg Duck Association yesterday, August 22, informed its members about the new farm gate prices for duck eggs. The price per egg has been increased by 10 satang, bringing the total to 5.10 baht per egg. This price adjustment is effective immediately, and any further changes will be communicated by the association.

This recent price hike is the fifth one this year. The previous adjustments occurred on April 22, when prices rose by 20 satang per egg, followed by another 20 satang increase on May 6. The price increased again by 10 satang on May 20 and another 10 satang on June 3. As a result of these adjustments, the price per egg stood at 5 baht before the latest increase.

The association’s decision to raise prices reflects the ongoing challenges faced by duck egg farmers. Rising production costs, including feed and energy prices, have contributed to the need for these adjustments. The association remains committed to supporting its members through these changes and will keep them informed of any further price modifications.

The Egg Duck Association emphasised that these price adjustments are necessary to ensure the sustainability and profitability of duck egg farming. The increased costs of feed and other essential supplies have put pressure on farmers, necessitating these price hikes, said a spokesperson for the association.

“The production costs have been steadily rising, and we need to adjust the prices accordingly to support our farmers.”

The association also highlighted that they are closely monitoring the market and will make further adjustments as needed to reflect the changing costs and market conditions.

Consumers can expect to see these new prices reflected in the market immediately. The association advises consumers to understand the necessity of these adjustments and the impact of increasing production costs on the overall pricing of duck eggs.

The Egg Duck Association continues to work closely with farmers to ensure that they receive fair compensation for their products while also maintaining a stable supply of duck eggs in the market, reported Khaosod.
