Chaiyamparwaan Manphianjit, also known as Poo Ad, a representative for the Bangkok Chom Thong district from the Move Forward Party (MFP), has been booted out of the MFP after his alleged disingenuous apology over the sexual harassment allegations hanging over him.

Despite issuing an apology, the party’s leader, Chaithawat Tulathon, believes that there has been no genuine remorse or acknowledgement of the wrongdoing. Consequently, the disciplinary and ethical committee has been tasked to proceed with disciplinary action, with the maximum penalty being expulsion from the party.

Born as Thanapat Manphianjit, Poo Ad later changed his name to Chaiyamparwaan. The name, pronounced Chai-Yam-Phu-Wan, is derived from Hindu mythology, specifically referring to one of the 18 deities who volunteered to descend to Earth and serve as a warrior in the army of Rama.

Before his political career, Chaiyamparwaan was a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. His educational background includes a degree in Communication Arts from Bangkok University and a degree in Politics and Government from Ramkhamhaeng University.

His professional experience encompasses UX product research for the StartDee application, aimed at democratising quality education for children. He also represented the Resolution group, advocating for constitutional amendments in the Draft Ruam Palang Prayuth System.

Furthermore, Chaiyamparwaan has been involved in several campaigns for constitutional amendments, including the ILAW draft and the ConLab group. He advocated for the public’s understanding of Thai and international constitutions, campaigned for equal marriage laws (LGBTQ), and served as the vice chairperson of the second working group of the Committee on Political Development and Public Participation, pushing for increased midday meals for children and teacher welfare.

That’s entertainment

In his entertainment career, Chaiyamparwaan participated in the A-Play Singing Fighter competition in 2011, performing songs such as Kuan Hin La Mer, Prince Nitra, and Stop, as well as various English songs. He also showcased his drumming skills.

In 2012, he starred in the movie Like Love from Phranakorn Film, playing the character Johnny in a story about love in the age of Facebook. The film also starred Patavee Kanth and Suchar Manaying.

In 2018, as Thanapat Manphianjit, he participated in the second season of The Governor, a reality TV show aimed at building future leaders. He made it to the final round for the Bangkok region. Chaiyamparwaan stated his ambition to develop an income and tourism economy with a policy of 50 districts, 50 tourist attractions, utilising the entertainment industry to enhance the value of tourism and products, reported Sanook.

During the election in 2019, there were images of Chaiyamparwaan helping Prasit Vacharasinthu, also known as Ice, to register as a candidate for the Bangkok Wang Thonglang and Bang Kapi districts from the Democrat Party.

There were also images of him while Prasit was the CEO of an education start-up company. When Ice resigned from the Democrat Party, Poo Ad registered as a candidate for the Bangkok Chom Thong and Bang Khun Thian districts from the MFP.
