Police raids in Bangkok led to the arrest of a famous couple known for creating explicit online content, which they sold to over 400,000 followers. Sex toys, school uniforms, and wigs were found during the raid.

The cyber crime division of the Royal Thai Police discovered the illegal activities involving the sale of explicit material through X, formerly Twitter. The operation aligns with the directives of top police officials, including General Torsak Sukvimol and General Kittirat Phanphet.

Police officers, led by Major General Thiti Saengsawang, conducted the raid. The couple, identified as 22 year old Wichada from Chom Thong district, and 27 year old Surasak from Wang Thonglang district, were apprehended in their bedroom on the third floor of a house in Ramkhamhaeng 54 Alley, Hua Mak subdistrict, Bang Kapi district. They faced charges related to producing and distributing pornographic content online.

“The couple was found with mobile phones and filming equipment used for producing explicit videos.”

The investigation began on July 22, when officers discovered the sale of explicit material on X, boasting over 400,000 followers. Undercover agents contacted the account, transferred 699 baht, and gained access to the private account, where they found numerous explicit videos. Following this, a court issued a search warrant for the residence of the account owners on July 23.

Wichada and Surasak cooperated with the police during the search. The evidence gathered, including mobile phones and clothing used in the videos, supported the charges. Both individuals confessed to producing and distributing the explicit content found on their devices and accounts.

The suspects admitted that initially, Wichada, who previously worked as a model and influencer on TikTok, transitioned to creating explicit content in 2022 after encouragement from her followers. Surasak accepted Wichada’s role as a sex creator and joined her in producing content. They began uploading videos of their intimate moments to Wichada’s account on X, charging a subscription fee and earning between 30,000 to 50,000 baht monthly, with some months reaching 70,000 baht.

Deterrence

The couple warned others against engaging in similar illegal activities, noting the increase in underage individuals seeking to participate in such content. They also refused offers involving drugs or online gambling, emphasising the importance of legality.

“We didn’t expect to get caught by the cyber crime division, as we are fans of their work.”

Major General Teeradet expressed concern about the growing trend of youth using social media platforms for inappropriate content. He urged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activities closely.

Despite the legality of such activities in other countries, Thai law prohibits the production and distribution of pornographic material. Offenders face up to three years in prison or fines up to 60,000 baht, or both, under Penal Code Section 287(1).

Additionally, uploading explicit content accessible to the public online carries a penalty of up to five years in prison or fines up to 100,000 baht, or both, under the Computer Crime Act Section 14(4), reported KhaoSod.
