A violent incident unfolded in Prachin Buri, Central Thailand, when a man in a frenzied state attacked a local grilled chicken shop, resulting in three fatalities. This alarming event has led police to conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the motive behind the attack.

The perpetrator, identified as 38 year old Surath, also known as Jack, initially stormed a shop located in the alley behind Prachin Buri Commercial School in Na Mueang subdistrict, Mueang district. “It was chaos. People were running for their lives.”

After this initial attack, Jack fled the scene on a blue Yamaha motorcycle, registration number 1กบ6237 Prachin Buri, and returned to his residence by the Prachin Buri River, near Phetphaibun Village 2.

He then proceeded to a nearby grilled chicken restaurant where he attacked the owner, Somporn, with a knife, inflicting severe wounds on her body.

The situation escalated further when Jack opened fire indiscriminately within the shop, injuring Boonlert, Wanchai, and Krisda, among others. The injured were rushed to Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital but tragically, one more victim succumbed to their injuries, raising the death toll.

Police officers discovered Jack dead inside the shop, his hands and feet bound, showing signs of severe bruising. It is believed that the relatives of the injured individuals overpowered him, leading to his death, potentially through a form of vigilante justice. Forensic teams are meticulously examining the scene to determine the exact sequence of events.
