A 49 year old man from Roi Et was found dead with a stab wound in a tuk tuk in Ratchathewi district, Bangkok. Police discovered 10 methamphetamine pills at the scene. The police are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of death.

The incident occurred at noon yesterday, March 4, when Police Lieutenant Jeeranan Kaoeian, Deputy Inspector at Phaya Thai Police Station, received a report of an assault leading to death within Soi Rama VI Soi 16, Phetchaburi Road. The police, along with forensic officers, doctors from Ramathibodi Hospital, and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, examined the scene.

The body of Prasong or Biao Lebkao, a 49 year old man from Roi Et, was discovered lying in the back seat of a tuk tuk with a registration number สข 736 Bangkok. He wore a maroon T-shirt and black shorts and was found with a stab wound beneath his ribcage.

Eight methamphetamine pills were found in a packet beside him, with an additional two pills found inside the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia.

Samran, a 65 year old tuk tuk driver who operates in the area, reported that Prasong was known for doing odd jobs and lived around the tuk tuk parking area, sleeping in the vehicles parked overnight.

“Prasong would collect and sell recyclable items and maintain cleanliness by picking up litter in nearby households.

“Around 6am, I attempted to wake Prasong for breakfast before starting work but he did not respond. So, I alerted the police.

It’s a mystery because Prasong did not have conflicts with others, though he was occasionally involved with drugs. He never caused problems or engaged in theft.”

Samran added that he was unaware of the source of the drugs found at the scene, stating it was Prasong’s personal matter, reported KhaoSod.

Investigators are collecting forensic evidence and DNA samples from those close to Prasong, as well as reviewing nearby CCTV footage to uncover more details.

The investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances leading to Prasong’s death and ensure appropriate legal proceedings are followed.
