Gang brawl suspect arrested after six years on the run
Fugitive blends into daily life until past violence catches up in surprise arrest

After six years on the run, the final suspect in a gang-related brawl among motorcycle taxi drivers at Udomsuk Market, which resulted in a fatality, has been apprehended. The suspect, who fled to Bang Na, was arrested while working as a motorcycle taxi driver.
Today, June 12, Police Major General Witthaya Srisaprasert, commander of the Provincial Police Region 4, directed Police Colonel Ekkasit Pansithaน and his team to arrest 35 year old Khwan (surname withheld).
The arrest was made under a warrant issued by the Phra Khanong Provincial Court, numbered 316/2562, dated June 29, 2019. Khwan was wanted for his involvement in a violent clash between motorcycle taxi groups at Udomsuk Market, which included the use of firearms.
Khwan faces charges of murder, attempted premeditated murder, and illegal assembly with weapons intending to create public disorder. He was listed as the eighth most wanted suspect by the police in their 2023 bulletin. He was arrested near a condominium on Sukhumvit 105 in Bang Na district, Bangkok.
The incident dates back to June 15, 2019, when two rival motorcycle taxi groups clashed violently on Udomsuk Road. The conflict involved a group led by Pramuk and another led by Thanong.

Armed with weapons, both groups engaged in a street fight, during which a private parcel delivery worker was accidentally shot and killed.
Following the incident, police investigated and successfully obtained arrest warrants for all 14 people involved. Thirteen suspects were previously captured, leaving only Khwan at large until his recent arrest.
Despite the arrest, Khwan has denied all charges. He has been transferred to the Bang Na police station for further legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.
In similar news, a suspected drug ringleader was captured following a high-stakes police chase in Nonthaburi on June 10. The suspect, who tried to escape on a motorcycle, was shot and wounded by officers after he attacked them with a knife.
