Bangkok man arrested after deadly dispute over motorcycle noise

A 29 year old man was apprehended at the emergency room of Bhumibol Hospital in Bangkok after fatally stabbing his 64 year old neighbour. The incident stemmed from a heated argument over motorcycle noise. The suspect, Jeerapat also known as Beer, claimed the engine was stalling, necessitating constant revving.

Yesterday, April 23, around 8pm, police received reports of a violent altercation involving a knife in Soi Phahonyothin 48, Alley 30, in the Anusawari area of Bang Khen district. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered blood stains.

The injured victim, Sorask, sustained stab wounds to his chest and face and was hospitalised at CGH Hospital, where he later died. Jeerapat, the alleged assailant, was treated for a stab wound to his right thigh at Bhumibol Hospital, where he was subsequently detained.

Jeerapat recounted that the conflict began when he was returning home on his motorcycle after dropping off his girlfriend. The motorcycle’s engine was malfunctioning, causing it to make loud noises, which annoyed Sorask, leading to an initial confrontation.

Sorask allegedly stabbed Jeerapat during the altercation, resulting in his injury. Unable to bear the pain, Jeerapat initially retreated to his residence.

While en route to the hospital, Jeerapat encountered Sorask blocking the road, armed with a knife. Another fight ensued, during which Jeerapat claimed he managed to seize the knife and retaliate, ultimately causing Sorask’s injuries and subsequent death.

Police confiscated the knife as evidence and are proceeding with legal action against Jeerapat at Bang Khen station, reported KhaoSod.
