28 provinces brace for heavy rain as Bangkok faces severe storms

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a weather forecast for June 1, identifying 28 provinces across two regions that are expected to face heavy rain, with Bangkok predicted to experience the most severe conditions.
Citizens are advised to be cautious due to moderate monsoon conditions affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that the upper parts of Thailand, particularly in the northern and upper northeastern regions, will continue to experience heavy rainfall, while thunderstorms are expected in some areas of the south. Residents in these regions are urged to be vigilant of potential hazards resulting from the heavy rain.
Moderate sea conditions are expected in the Andaman Sea, with waves reaching 1 to 2 metres and exceeding 2 metres during thunderstorms. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms.
Northern Thailand will see thunderstorms covering 60% of the area, with heavy rainfall anticipated in Tak, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun. Temperatures will range from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, with highs between 32 and 35°C. The southwest wind will blow at speeds of 5 to 15 kilometres per hour.
In the northeast, thunderstorms are expected in 40% of the area, with heavy rain in Bueng Kan and Nakhon Phanom. The region will experience temperatures from 23 to 26°C, with highs of 32 to 35°C. Winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.

Central Thailand will have thunderstorms in 40% of the area, primarily affecting Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi. Temperatures will drop to 24 to 26°C, with maximums of 33 to 36°C, and southwest winds at 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.
The eastern region anticipates thunderstorms across 60% of the area, notably in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
Minimum temperatures will be 24 to 29°C with highs of 33 to 35°C. Winds will be from the southwest at 15 to 30 kilometres per hour, with sea waves reaching about 1 metre, rising above 2 metres during storms.
On the southern east coast, 20% of the area will experience thunderstorms, particularly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Yala, and Narathiwat.
Temperatures will range from 24 to 27°C, with highs of 34 to 36°C. Southwest winds will blow at 15 to 30 kilometres per hour, and waves will be about 1 metre, exceeding 2 metres during thunderstorms.
On the southern west coast, 20% of the area will have thunderstorms, mainly in Ranong, Phang Nga, and Krabi. Temperatures are expected to be between 25 and 28°C, with highs of 33 and 35°C.
Winds from the southwest will reach 15 to 35 kilometres per hour, and sea waves will be 1 to 2 metres high, exceeding two metres in stormy areas.
In Bangkok and the surrounding areas, 60% of the area will experience thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 25 to 27°C, with highs of 34 to 36°C. Southwest winds will prevail at 10 to 20 kilometres per hour, reported KhaoSod.
