Motorcyclist tragically killed on Sukhumvit Road after hitting a dog
A tragic incident occurred on Sukhumvit Road, Chon Buri city, when a motorcyclist hit a dog, fell, and was successively run over by multiple vehicles. The unidentified male motorcyclist, around 30 years old, succumbed to his injuries, while one other individual was injured.
The accident, which happened around 5.30am today, resulted in one fatality and one injury. The motorcycle involved, a Honda Forza with license plate 3กด3002 Chon Buri, was found beside the road. The deceased, an unidentified male, bore visible signs of severe head and body trauma caused by multiple vehicles running over him repeatedly.
Authorities found a Toyota Innova, license plate 4กญ4843 Bangkok, at the scene. The driver, 63 year old Prida, claimed he was driving normally when he ran over something on the poorly lit road. He said that several vehicles had hit the object before him and many more did so after he had stopped to investigate, reported KhaoSod.
Sangwan, a 61 year old witness, recounted seeing the victim riding at high speed before hitting a dog and falling off his motorcycle. He explained that several cars subsequently ran over the victim and the initial accident was followed by a series of similar unfortunate incidents. The area was dark, making it difficult for drivers to see the victim lying in the middle of the road.
The local authorities will carry out further investigations with the injured party and the car driver to ascertain the sequence of events leading to this unfortunate incident. The police are committed to ensuring a detailed and thorough investigation, following which appropriate legal actions will be taken.
