Sakol, the 65 year old driver of the 18-wheeler, emerged from a nearby petrol station visibly shaken. He explained that he had parked the truck to take a shower at the petrol station’s facilities.

When he returned, he saw rescue personnel attempting to revive the injured motorcyclist. Sakol admitted that he did not park the truck close to the roadside, which may have contributed to the accident. He was unsure about the exact cause of the collision.
