Motorcycle crash in Cha-am kills elderly man, injures woman

A tragic accident occurred when a young woman riding her motorcycle against traffic collided with another motorcycle, resulting in the death of the other rider. The incident left the victim’s family grieving at the scene.

At 8am today, August 7, Police Lieutenant Kancha Klao Viriyadechawat, an investigator at Cha-am Police Station, received a report of a motorcycle collision on Phetkasem Road, inbound to Bangkok, in the Huay Sai Tai community of Cha-am municipality, Phetchaburi province. Rescue teams from Cha-am Hospital and Sawang Sanphet Rescue Unit rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the emergency team found 28 year old Wanida, injured. They provided initial medical assistance before transporting her to Cha-am Hospital. Nearby, they discovered the deceased, In, an 85 year old man, who suffered a severe forehead injury. He was wearing a long-sleeved patterned shirt and black trousers. The impact had thrown his body onto the road, causing his death.

Close to the accident scene were two damaged motorcycles. The deceased’s Honda motorcycle, registered in Phetchaburi, showed significant front-end damage from the collision. Similarly, Wanida’s Honda Wave motorcycle, also registered in Phetchaburi, had heavy front-end damage.

Investigations revealed that the deceased had left his home in the Huay Sai Tai community to run errands in the Bang Kwai-Bang Sai Yai area. While on his way, Wanida, driving her motorcycle against the traffic flow, collided head-on with his motorcycle. The force of the impact threw the deceased off his bike, causing him to hit the ground and lose his life, reported KhaoSod.

Cha-am Municipality council members and the victim’s relatives arrived at the scene, overwhelmed with grief.

In related news, a motorcyclist driving against traffic on a Bangkok expressway collided head-on with a car, resulting in a fatal accident. The impact resulted in a fire that engulfed both vehicles, leading to injuries for the car driver and the untimely death of the motorcyclist.
