Factory worker dies in tragic motorcycle-lorry collision on Asia Road

A tragic accident occurred when a truck collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of a factory worker. The incident took place at 7.30am today, July 24, on the inbound Asia Road near kilometre marker 11 in Khung Lan, Bang Pa-in district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. Police officer Nakrob Chobthamthan rushed to the scene along with Ayutthaya Ruamjai Association staff.

At the scene, the deceased, identified as 41 year old Pattarawadee, was found wearing her factory uniform. Her body sustained severe injuries, with her head split open and body parts scattered across the road.

Close by, a heavily damaged Yamaha motorcycle with a Bangkok registration was observed, with its parts shattered across the vicinity. Nearby lay a broken helmet with brain matter attached.

Approximately 1 kilometre away, a truck with Nakhon Pathom registration was parked. Brain matter was found stuck on the rear left wheels of the trailer. Nathawat, the 41 year old truck driver, was waiting to provide his statement to the police.

Nathawat recounted the events, explaining that while driving in the leftmost lane of Asia Road, he felt the vehicle jerk as if it had run over something. Checking his left rearview mirror, he noticed a motorcycle lying on the road with a deceased individual nearby. He immediately stopped the truck, expressing shock and denying any intention to flee, unaware that he had collided with the motorcycle, reported KhaoSod.

Police examined the collision marks at the scene, documenting the area where the motorcycle was run over. They took Nathawat for further questioning to obtain a detailed account of the incident. Pattarawadee’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy as part of the legal process.

The incident took place on the main road in front of the Hua Samrong Subdistrict Municipality in Plang Yao District, Chachoengsao Province.
