Factory shuttle bus tyre explosion injures 16 near Ayutthaya

A factory shuttle bus suffered a left front tyre explosion, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and injure 16 people. The incident occurred at 6.30pm yesterday near the Ayutthaya Interchange.

The accident was reported to the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station by Deputy Inspector Wutthiphat Chuaykhit. Authorities, including officers from the Phutthaisawan Foundation and Ruamkatanyu Foundation, promptly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, the authorities found the bus, registered as 30-1860 Ayutthaya, overturned on its right side after veering off the road due to a burst left front tyre. The injured included 12 men and four women, who were immediately transported to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital and Rajthanee Hospital for medical attention.

Bunyak, the 60 year old driver of the bus, explained that he was transporting factory workers from Tha Ruea, Nakhon Luang, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya districts to a factory in the Rojana Industrial Park.

Initial investigations have been documented by officials, who captured images as evidence. Further inquiries and legal proceedings are expected to follow, reported KhaoSod.

In related news, a bus crash on Si Kew-Chaiyaphum Road near Nakhon Ratchasima left 47 students and teachers injured and the driver dead.

The bus crash occurred at approximately 10.30pm, with the vehicle carrying 39 students and 12 staff members on a field trip from Chaiyaphum province to the revered Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok met with tragedy.

Eyewitnesses recounted a heart-stopping scene as the bus, hurtling through the night, collided violently with a sugarcane-laden truck that encroached into its lane.

Tragically, the 41 year old bus driver, Abhisit Boonyotha, passed away in the accident while the passengers, students ranging from nine to 11 years old, suffered injuries varying in severity.
