Woman arrested for stealing valuables worth 600,000 baht

Police apprehended a 38 year old woman after she was caught stealing valuables worth approximately 600,000 baht from a luxury home in Chon Buri.

The incident occurred yesterday, March 25, when Police Colonel Somchai Thiwangsa, superintendent of Ban Bueng Police Station, directed Deputy Superintendent Thanongsak Suwannawat to lead an investigative team to arrest Naritsara while she was asleep in a rented room in Nong Phai Kaeo subdistrict.

Naritsara confessed that she desired money, leading her to drive her Toyota Vios aimlessly from her residence. She eventually parked on the roadside of Chao Por Suea-Thung Klet Route, Moo 5, Map Phai subdistrict.

She then walked through a cassava field, scaled a wall into the luxury residential area, and selected a house with no vehicles in the driveway. Naritsara chose homes with few or no shoes outside, avoiding those with many.

Upon finding a suitable house, she noticed a gap in the fence concealed by bushes and unlocked the door of a shrine room with a key left in the lock. After entering, she explored and took a drink from the refrigerator.

She then took a bag from a shoe rack and filled it with valuables from the second floor, including a gold necklace, gold-framed amulets, rings, and amulets. These items were later sold at a gold shop in Nong Chak subdistrict.

When the police summoned the homeowner to verify the retrieved possessions, the owner expressed relief at the arrest but regretted the theft of items valued at about 600,000 baht (US$17,670). Despite not recovering everything, the owner felt pleased with the progress.

Upon encountering the homeowner, Naritsara knelt and pleaded for forgiveness, admitting her wrongdoings. However, the homeowner insisted on letting the legal process take its course, reported KhaoSod.

The police initially charged Naritsara and are conducting further investigations to uncover any additional crimes before proceeding with legal action in court.
