Teacher’s murder suspect identified, evidence found near scene
A suspect has been identified in the fatal shooting of a teacher in Bang Pa-In district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, with key evidence found 2 kilometres from the crime scene. Efforts are underway to gather evidence for an arrest warrant.
Yesterday, January 19, at the Bang Pa-In Police Station, Police Major General Naruenat Phuttaisong, commander of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, along with Police Colonel Peerapat Chuchuay, head of the investigative unit, convened a meeting to discuss the progress of the case. The victim, a 60 year old man, Nak, was shot dead in his car on Highway 3011 in the district.
During the meeting, it was revealed that a teacher’s ID card from the Nonthaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was found at the scene. The suspect fled on a motorcycle following the incident, prompting officials to spend two hours in strategic discussions.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Naruenat stated that the investigation has made progress, with connections pointing to a specific suspect. He instructed the investigative team to gather further evidence to support issuing an arrest warrant.
The investigation has narrowed down potential motives to personal conflicts that may have led to the suspect’s dissatisfaction with the victim. Although the victim was a legal advisor, it is unclear if this role played a part in the conflict.
Documentation found in the car has yet to be linked to the suspect. These documents pertain to various cases, including some related to drug offences and general cases.
Fatal shooting
The investigative team is also examining a phone call that was ongoing at the time of the shooting. Special tools are being used to trace the call, with expectations of more details emerging soon. The call may not be directly related to the crime.
The investigation suggests that the suspect and the victim had prior communication, possibly arranging a meeting. Surveillance footage and timeline checks indicate a connection. The investigative team is closely monitoring the suspect’s whereabouts.
The victim’s role as a legal advisor is being examined, with possibilities that he provided legal advice to others without being a lawyer. Family members, including an ex-wife and children, were unaware of his activities as they were estranged. His daughter confirmed he was a legal advisor for a company.
Eyewitnesses have described the suspect and the suspect’s motorcycle. The investigation suggests there was only one perpetrator but further inquiries may reveal more accomplices. The victim travelled from Nonthaburi to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, likely meeting someone along the way.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Naruenat has tasked officers with recreating the event using CCTV footage to understand the incident better. Information indicates the suspect changed clothes after the crime to avoid detection and returned to dispose of additional evidence, reported KhaoSod.
Investigators discovered significant evidence linking a known suspect with a history of firearms offences in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. Further investigation uncovered a mobile phone 2 kilometres from the crime scene and a discarded black coat, both collected for examination.
