Factory worker found dead with injuries in Chon Buri room

A factory worker was found dead in his rented room in Si Racha district, Chon Buri province, yesterday, April 28. The 40 year old, identified as Montree, bore bruises on his face and body, and there were traces of blood splattered across the room.

Police Colonel Tosawat Phothisa from Nong Kham Police Station received the report of the death. Officers, including Police Major General Komkrit Munchit and Police Major Jirapath Sripakdee, arrived at the scene to investigate.

They were joined by the Si Racha Pure Yeang Tai rescue team. Montree was discovered lying on the bed, shirtless, with visible injuries. The incident took place in a raised single-storey house in Bueng subdistrict.

Prior investigations revealed that the day before, at around 5pm, Montree was drinking a 40-degree alcohol beverage with three to five colleagues from the factory. A heated argument ensued, leading to Montree being beaten by the group.

They initially left but returned at 8pm for further drinking. By 11pm, Montree, visibly intoxicated, was preparing to go to bed when the group decided to leave again.

Later, Montree’s supervisor informed his colleagues that the group had admitted to assaulting him. This prompted an investigation by the local police, who summoned the people involved for questioning, specifically individuals referred to as A, B, and C, to understand the circumstances leading to the death.

Meanwhile, the police have taken the group suspected of the assault to Nong Kham police station for further questioning, reported KhaoSod.
