Responding to the call, officers from Cha-Am Police Station coordinated with medical staff from Cha-Am Hospital, forensic officials, detectives, and rescue volunteers from the Sawang Sanphet Thammasathan Foundation to inspect the scene.

Upon arrival, officials found a red Honda Wave motorcycle, bearing a provisional licence plate, overturned in the grass about 300 metres from the village road. The body of a man in a white T-shirt was found face down in the water.

Rescue teams retrieved the body for an autopsy, identifying the deceased as 30 year old Thanongsak, a resident of Cha-Am, Phetchaburi. The family had reported him missing the day before. A thorough investigation into the cause of death is now underway.

His mother explained that Thanongsak worked as a delivery rider, distributing goods to shops and student dormitories near Silpakorn University’s Phetchaburi campus. The family operates a shop in that area. He was last seen at 7.50pm, heading out for a delivery.

After he failed to return or respond to calls, his family began searching for him and checked CCTV footage along his usual routes. The footage captured him entering a dormitory area but he was not seen again until his body was found in the pond, reported KhaoSod.

The dead man’s unnamed mother suspects robbery and murder because Thanongsak had no friends or relatives in the area where his body was found.

“The location is unusual, being far from the delivery point and lacking electricity and CCTV coverage. It’s very suspicious, especially considering the signs of a struggle near the motorcycle and the water’s edge where water spinach grows.”
