A wedding in Guangdong province, China, sparked online discussions due to the unusual demeanour of the couple. The bridegroom appeared deeply unhappy, while the bride seemed emotionless. Neither showed any sign of a smile, making the atmosphere both tense and melancholy.

The bride, slim and tall, had a unique facial feature – the absence of a chin, making it appear as if her lips connected straight to her neck, making her expressions seem sombre. The groom, shorter than his bride by half a head, stood rigidly, looking lost in thought. Despite the cheerful attempts of the master of ceremonies, there was no change in their expressions.

Why didn’t the couple smile? Some people speculated that in rural China, finding a partner isn’t easy, leading to stories of sudden marriages. Some newlyweds barely know each other before their wedding or even meet for the first time on their wedding day.

This could be through introductions by relatives, friends, or matchmakers. The couple in question might fall into this category, their unfamiliarity potentially causing their worried expressions, reported Sohu.

Yet, many believe that the couple did not marry willingly, seeming to be fulfilling a task rather than celebrating a union. It was speculated that the groom might not be satisfied with the bride’s appearance, hence his lack of a smile. Some even commented that they hoped their children would inherit the father’s looks and the mother’s height.

Nevertheless, others questioned the importance of beauty. Instead of focusing on external appearances, they suggested focusing on personality as beauty isn’t a crucial factor in a happy marriage. Good character and responsibility are the keys.

A good wife can bring prosperity to the family. It’s essential to care for each other once a life partner is chosen, as everyone has flaws. But if one only focuses on these flaws and ignores the good points, they risk losing something truly valuable.
