A blind date in China ended abruptly as the man turned down the woman, despite her beauty, due to disliking her haircut. First impressions, especially in romantic pursuits, often hinge on physical appearance, leading some to make snap judgements based on looks alone.

The blind date incident sparked online debate in the Chinese social media sphere when a beautiful woman was instantly rejected by her blind date, despite her stunning looks. The sole reason was the man’s dislike of her hairstyle. This led to an abrupt end to their encounter, with no chance for further interaction.

Images released online reveal the woman, dressed in a yellow top, is not only attractive but also has a good physique. However, her looks did not suffice to persuade the man to continue their date, leaving netizens puzzled and unable to discern the reason for the quick rejection.

As it turns out, the man’s reason for the blind date rejection was rather peculiar. He found the woman’s short hairstyle gave her a tomboy look, and he preferred a woman with long hair who appeared more feminine. But this woman’s short hairstyle was not considered feminine by him.

Despite understanding the man’s reasoning, netizens defended the woman, stating that her dress was fairly neutral and could be worn by anyone regardless of gender. Some even argued that she would still look better than most other women wearing the same outfit, reported Sanook.

Some netizens criticised the man for his poor taste, arguing that she could have been the best girlfriend he ever had, but he failed to see her value due to his limited aesthetic sensibility.

Hair raising

“He really has no taste. If I saw a beautiful woman like this, I would definitely date her. Hair can grow, but if you miss out on a beautiful woman like this, you might never meet her again.”

However, there were also views supporting the man, citing that personal preference matters. So, no matter how good-looking a person is, if one doesn’t like them, they just don’t. Knowing one’s preferences and making quick decisions should be commended, they argued. It opens the opportunity for the woman to find someone who appreciates her more, and for other men to meet her as well.

A relationship is a matter between two individuals. If one party doesn’t feel special, it could mean that the pair are not meant to be.
