Drunk foreign man ends Phuket beach party with graveyard nap

Locals in the Bang Tao area of Phuket rescued a drunk foreign man who was found sleeping in a graveyard after attending a beach party.
The Phuket Times shared photos of the man lying on a grassy area yesterday, April 21, with the caption:
“5.20pm. A foreigner was found lying unconscious in the Bang Tao kubur (kubur means burial ground for Muslims).”
The man, dressed in blue shorts and a white T-shirt, was lying on his side in the graveyard. The burial ground is located within a local community and is enclosed by a wall. It is believed the man climbed over the wall to reach the area, which he used as his “natural grass bed.”
Many Thai netizens shared humorous comments in response to the post, while others expressed concern for the man’s wellbeing. A local later confirmed in the comments that the man was safe, stating he was simply intoxicated and fell asleep there.

A Thai app-based taxi driver, Suttisak Jonli, commented that the foreigner booked his service but never responded to any of his messages or calls. Suttisak wrote…
“This is the foreign man who booked my ride via the app. He asked to be picked up from Maya Beach Club. I was almost there, just 20 metres away, but he ignored me, climbed over the wall, and fell asleep. I had no choice but to leave him there.”

He also included a screenshot of their conversation, in which he messaged…
“Are you out yet? I’m at the pick-up point. Please walk out. The spot where you are is a private area I cannot access.”
Based on the name shown in the app, the foreigner is believed to be a Russian national.

Another local, who lives near the scene, shared that a rescue team was called to assist the man. He was safely transported back to his hotel, as he did not sustain any injuries.
This is not the first time intoxicated behaviour by a foreigner caused a stir in Thailand. In January, another foreign man was filmed crawling on a road in Bangkok’s Wang Thong Lang district during the morning rush hour. His actions caused a significant traffic jam, prompting two Thai men to intervene and remove him from the road.
