A 30 year old man was arrested during an anti-drug raid at the sea gypsy village in Rawai, Phuket, where officers seized a substantial quantity of illicit drugs. The operation was conducted by the Special Operations Unit of the Phuket office of the Department of Local Administration (DOLA), led by Akkara Suwatthikul.
The raid followed intelligence reports suggesting that drugs were being sold to teenagers and locals in the area. Acting on the information, officers launched a coordinated inspection, which led to the arrest of the suspect, whose name was not disclosed in the report.

During initial questioning, the suspect admitted to owning the drugs and preparing them for distribution, according to the official report. As a result, he has been charged with selling Category 1 narcotics (crystal meth and methamphetamine) with intent to distribute without permission, as well as driving under the influence of Category 1 narcotics.
