Young motorcyclist injured in hit-and-run incident on Pattaya’s Beach Road

Pattaya witnessed an unfortunate hit-and-run incident in the early hours of yesterday, December 1, where a young motorcyclist was left injured due to a collision with a fruit side cart.

The incident took place on the bustling Beach Road, and the victim was identified as 20 year old Krawit Jandang.

Pattaya police were alerted about the accident around 2am. They swiftly joined forces with the Sawang Boriboon rescue teams and rushed to the accident site. Upon arrival, they discovered an overturned Yamaha Grand Filano motorcycle with a Chonburi license plate lying in the middle of the road.

The young motorcyclist, Krawit, was found injured nearby, with a significant laceration on his right ankle. Quick to respond, the rescue teams administered initial medical care to Krawit at the scene before urgently transporting him to Banglamung Hospital for more comprehensive treatment.

Eyewitness accounts painted a chaotic picture of the incident. It was reported that the young motorcyclist was riding down Beach Road when a side cart loaded with fruit suddenly crossed his path. This sudden intrusion caused Krawit to lose control of his motorcycle, resulting in the crash.

The driver of the side cart did not remain at the scene. Instead, they reportedly fled immediately after the accident, leaving Krawit injured on the road. Fortunately, quick-thinking bystanders immediately reported the incident, enabling a swift response from the rescue teams, reported Pattaya News.

The authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident. They are working diligently to establish the full sequence of events and identify the driver of the side cart who fled from the scene.

A witness reported Krawit was riding his motorcycle along Beach Road when a fruit side cart abruptly cut him off, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and crash.

Pattaya police gave a statement after the accident.

“The other party reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving Mr Jandang injured on the road.”
