A Thai truck driver miraculously emerged unscathed from a jaw-dropping accident on Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip, in a scene straight out of a disaster film. The jaw-dropping incident occurred yesterday, December 1, at the stroke of 10.25am, prompting a swift response from the intrepid team at the Sawang Rojonthammasathit Foundation.

Chaos descended as rescue squads raced to the scene, discovering a white Hino six-wheeler, tipped onto its side, thoroughly obstructing the road and spilling its earthy cargo everywhere. Miraculously, the driver, 49 year old Kittisak, stood coolly at the side of his capsized truck, his fortunate escape clear for all to see.

Close by, a white Toyota Yaris, piloted by 41 year old Thanaporn, bore the brunt of the truck’s clumsiness with a mere scratch to its rear. Thankfully, she, too, walked away without a scratch.

Kittisak recounted his hair-raising tale to the Sattahip police, explaining how his day took a dramatic turn. While trundling along Sukhumvit Road, he was forced to slow down as the traffic ahead eased up for a motorbike with a sidecar.

Yet, despite his valiant attempt to brake, the enormous truck instead tapped the rear of Thanaporn’s car. This little nudge was enough to send his vehicle careening out of control, crashing into the bridge railing before spectacularly upending itself.

Meanwhile, Thanaporn gave her side of the story, explaining her straightforward drive that was rudely interrupted when a sidecar-trailing motorbike sliced in front, forcing her to ease off the accelerator. Barely a heartbeat later, a thunderous crash and a shuddering impact alerted her to the truck’s calamitous brush with her Yaris before its tumble.

Police in Sattahip, with the arduous task of untangling this twisted tale, plan to haul both drivers in for a grilling, as they weigh up possible legal consequences for this traffic shocker.
