British and German sex pests snared in Pattaya sting

A German citizen and a British national face ten years in prison after being arrested in Pattaya on suspicion of horrific sexual offences against minors in Thailand. The pair, arrested yesterday, February 19, face four-to-ten years in jail and a fine from 80,000 baht to 200,000 baht for their predatory pedophile behaviour.
The first suspect, 68 year old German national Rudolf, allegedly used the guise of offering a young girl an education to gain access to her.
He reportedly contacted her guardian in Surat Thani province, promising to fund her schooling in Chon Buri. However, his sinister intentions were exposed after police received complaints of sexual abuse. A search of his residence uncovered a trove of disturbing evidence, including explicit photos and videos of the victim.
“She confirmed she was molested and forced to pose in various ways.”
Rudolf used intimidation to coerce the young girl. After initially being granted bail, Rudolf fled, only to be recaptured hiding in an apartment in Nong Prue.
The second suspect, 41 year old British man Oliver, allegedly used the Tinder dating app to target a Thai girl under 15. He too fled before prosecution but was apprehended upon his return to Thailand on Tuesday, February 18.
He was found hiding in a Nong Prue hotel. He faces severe charges, including taking away a person under 15 years of age for indecent purposes and sexual intercourse with a minor under 15 years of age, regardless of consent.

Police Major General Chairit Anurut, Commander of Immigration Division 3, emphasised the police’s commitment to tackling such crimes.
“Victims of such crimes suffer tremendously.”
Chairit highlighted the contrasting methods used by the suspects, one exploiting financial vulnerability, the other claiming ignorance of the victim’s age.
He warned tourists to be cautious when using dating apps, reported KhaoSod English.

In similar news, a nine year old Thai boy was murdered in Samut Prakan province after resisting a Burmese man’s rape attempt. The boy vanished from his Phra Samut Chedi community after telling his grandmother he was going to a local shop. His family launched a social media appeal, suspecting a Burmese roti vendor who often gave the boy money. The boy’s body was later found in a pond.
